A wise person said: "What gets measured gets done." If you're serious about improving your health, we encourage you to set reasonable goals and measure your progress over time. The free and low-cost online tools listed on this website can help you get there.
Here are some of the most common wellness goals we see at the YMCA today:
▪ Losing weight (and keeping it off)
▪ Reducing blood pressure or cholesterol levels (through diet and exercise)
▪ Improving upper-body strength (for sports or just for better health)
▪ Boosting aerobic capacity (for a wide variety of reasons)
▪ Quitting smoking (at last)
▪ Combatting diabetes (through weight loss and fitness)
Quick fixes and temporary "crash programs" seldom succeed. Instead, set your sights on realistic targets that you can attain gradually over time. You'll be more likely achieve your goals if you measure them regularly in a consistent way.
For more information on tracking your progress, please consult one of our friendly staff members or call the YMCA front desk at (269) 963-9622. For a complete list of wellness related programs, and latest fitness classes, click here now.
