Who is Involved?

Why Walk?
Walking is an activity that most people can do every day. To make it more fun, Golden Key routes direct walkers throughout the city
and past cultural institutions, historic locations and special points of interest. Along the way, visit the downtown businesses.

Our local businesses are special
treasures that are too often missed by people hurrying past in cars.

Walking is also a great stress reliever and doesn’t require special equipment other than a pair of comfortable shoes! The health benefits
can be equal to running or other aerobic exercises.

Walk with your family or friends and hunt for the Golden Key!  Walking is a great social activity, in fact, we strongly recommend walking
together with a friends or in a group.  Group Walks are scheduled weekly. Join the fun and meet new friends.

Fun Facts - “B” Active!

¨ Extend your life by up to 2 minutes for every minute of walking you do.

¨ Just by walking an extra 20 minutes a day for a year, you could lose 7 pounds of body fat.

¨ Regular walking can reduce pain and improve the quality of sleep among older adults.
