At your Family
Y Center, one of our most important goals has always been to
enrich the lives of kids in our community. But when
some are left out, it leaves us all a bit poorer.
That's because
giving kids a safe and nurturing place to go benefits
everyone. By introducing them to experiences that will
help them grow into responsible, successful adults, we make
the community we love a better place to live. One
child at a time. One family at a time. |
Battle Creek Family YMCA programs teach young
people important values such as caring, honesty, responsibility,
and respect. Through a variety of fun and rewarding
activities, they also develop valuable skills, while they gain
confidence and self-esteem. You simply cannot put a price on
strengthening and enriching the character of a child.

In 2004 with your donations we were able to provide to our
community:
300 Kids
spent a week learning personal water safety/survival
techniques and the beginning skills of swimming
350
Families are advancing their literacy skills through our
English as a Second language, Adult Basic Education, and
Online GED preparation programs
1500 free visits to our Learn
to Earn program that offers homework assistance and
wholesome recreational activities
3000
visits to our Y in the Sky Youth fitness center that offers
swimming, gym, fitness classes, arts and crafts, and music
activities

visits to the YMCA from area youth for fitness and
recreational enrichment activities

Membership and program fees at the
Battle Creek Family YMCA of Battle Creek do not cover all the costs to
support these vital community programs. To ensure that no
one is denied a chance to participate because of inability to pay,
we truly need your help.
Through the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, your contribution helps us
to provide program support and financial assistance to families
who need it in our community. Only by working together can
we give more kids the opportunity to grow strong in Spirit, Mind,
and Body. |
